Detective Jacob Smash and his assistant Sean Gabby receive a new investigation into the death of Jessica Last from their chief. Crazy detective Jacob Smash has a mutation that allows him to physically see the mental effects of broken bonds between people and the associated memories through their scars. They go to the crime scene and examine the corpse. While Sean read out the details of the crime, it was revealed that she had been poisoned. Jacob finds scars on Jessica's body and sees her various memories.

After seeing these memories, he shares the information he found out with his assistant. Sean confirms everything that was said by Jacob and gives some more information about the death, stating that the other detectives did not consider this death as a murder, but rather a suicide. Jacob sees new memories and almost dies himself from what he sees. The detective states that it was not a suicide, but an accident. The detectives closed the case and go to their boss.
